Title: Want to hire
Post by: jimjim on December 04, 2005, 09:22:17 pm
I'm looking to find help getting my arcade/mame machine working correctly.  I am having a difficult time getting it to run, and add things that I want.  Right now, I am having trouble with Mamewah.  I'm frustrated and not doing a good job keeping my machine running.  I figured there are 2 ways to approach the problem:
1.  Just keep being frustrated and try to work things out myself which is becoming less and less fun, or

2.  Hire somebody that is an expert to work on my computer that is familiar with Mame, Mamewah, and DVD2DAPHNE

I've decided to go with hiring somebody

Here is some of the things that I would like done:

1.  Have somebody that is comfortable working with Mamewah to get Mame, other emulators, and pc game lists working.

 2.  I have the DVD version (20th Anniversery) of Dragon Lair, Dragon's Lair 2, Space Ace.  I would like to run this on my cab, under the option in  Mamewah.  Right now I use the media player and it is not the same experience that I have heard from other people.

Make things as foolproof as possible. I need to make a backup in case I mess up the configuration again.

I realize time is money, and I am willing to compensate for this.

Thanks- If you are interested send me a pm.

You can probrably use something like GotoMyPC to allow someone to access your computer remotely to do this.

Not that 'm an expert, but we use GotoMyPC at work all the time to access other peoples computers...

It cost 24.95 / month. I think you could sign up just for a month, or maybe they even have a free trial session.

Good Luck.

Where are you located?

I don't think the goto my pc will work very well, it's mainly good for non graphical apps.
(Think standard windows apps that don't use custom graphic modes, etc)

Later,

I live in the heart of Central Califorinia near Fresno and only an hour away from San Jose/Bay area.

I've got an offer from Goz to help.

You could also use UltraVNC ... that is free and can be found on Source Forge.

Has clients for pretty much every OS if you are planning to use Linux instead of Windows on your cab :)

cool, I'll try logmein tonight at home (would love to be able to look at my home machine when at work... when someone mentions a link that isn't acceptable to get at work.  Or find a program you want to download)

VNC is really great, but requires some ports to be open that I cant get at work.

might want to also try tightvnc which from what I recall should be a more secure version.

Cool. I'll give it a try. We use GotoMyPC at work to let clients run our applications...
