I've been lugging my Atari 800, drives, software, etc around for the past 20 years and am looking for advice. Should I sell it all or hold on to it? What yould you do?
I've got two (I think) Atari 800's, one with a custom built 192K Ramdisk, a couple of extra ram cartridges, 3 810 disk drives, 1 810 Happy drive, a light pen, a joystick or two, some manuals and about 200 disks of software. There's probably other stuff there too, I'd have to check.
Any help?

I was in the same spot as you before. It came down to: What the heck I'm gonna do with this thig ? Its been seating here collecting dust and would I ever use again ? So I got rid of while I can.
So it really comes down to your choosing. Chances are, if you want to play a game on it, you would probably just fire up an EMULATOR and play that game again for 5-10 minutes tops.
Unless you have a very RARE carts for it that someone will KILL you for it, then its worth keeping.
This is just my POV, so it still comes down to your decision.

Personally, I'd keep it. But im a retro gamer at heart, I still have my all of my old Amiga's =) Sure you could play them on an emulator, but it's never the same (not for me at least)..

If you haven't used it in the last 3 years, it's time to sell. You've probably moved on and you can always wet your appitite with an emulator down the road. Sell now while you can still get a buck.

Do an e-bay search. If you can find what you have, then sell it and you can always get it again later. In the meantime, you aren't using it, it's taking up space and you have to drag it everytime you move.

They're hardly worth anything, so if you bought them new I'd hold on to them.
I still have my C64 and 1541, and an Atari 130XE and Indus GT drive (The 130XE replaced an 800XL that crapped out).
I packed all the stuff neatly away in a couple rubbermaid containers and stuck it in the back of an upstairs closet. I'd never part with my original systems, but I also wouldn't spend 10 bucks for another one. ;)

I had a HUGE collection. ( 2 truck loads)
sold all but 1 complete set
saved my 800 xl ( more beefed up than my stock 130 xe)

I have a C64 and drive in a box. I built an adaptor that let me connect the drive to a PC. I copied all software I care about to PC. The box has been packed away and everything else (cartridges, etc) have been/are being sold.

i have a ton of atari 8bit stuff that is just taking up space, although i love it and it was my first computer, i'll prolly never set it up again so if it can bring me some cashiola to buy more game stuff then sweet.
but where is a good placeto get rid of it? just ebay?
ive tried craigs list for a few things and have had mixed results...

Hey, I was just staring at a boxed 400 and a boxed 800 last night thinking "should I try ebay, give it away on byoac, or just freecycle the stuff..."
I will NEVER use these things.
