Title: Bartop Cocktail
Post by: bishmasterb on December 04, 2005, 12:47:04 am
What better to go on a bartop than a cocktail?

The computer is a Dell Inspiron with a 14" display.

The unit still needs controls, artwork and lexan.

Hey, it's cool and all, but really, nominating yourself for the Hall of Fame before it's even finished??? I don't know about that.....

 :)

You should just "report to moderator" if you haven't already and I'm sure it'll be moved shortly.

Very cool project bish.

You can't report your own posts.

Ahhhh... I saw the "report to moderator" link on my own posts and thought they'd do something.

But that's okay, since I reported this thread for him anyway :)

But doesn't this limit you to playing against the bartender?

Thanks guys.

I want to limit the games on this to just a handful, maybe 10 or 15 well known classics that support vertical play and cocktail switching (rotation) for player 2. It will have four way joysticks and only one button per player.

Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Pac Man
Ms. Pac Man
Galaga
Galaxian
Frogger

Any other suggestions?

i put down rally x but then realised it is horizontal. how about burgertime though? i know its not a classic but it totally looks and sounds the part and has a good game play

edit: ok had a bit of a look, heres some more that might not be classic but fit the bill. Pooyan in particular is great to play:

grobda

galaga 88

hopper robo

jumping jack

phoenix

pooyan

return of the invaders

space invaders II

you definitely should give pooyan and space invaders II a go!

Burgertime not a classic?! Only if Donkey Kong and Pac-Man aren't either...

I'm in Australia as well, and I'd never heard of it either until I found BYOAC :)

That doesn't mean that I cannot recognise a classic when I see it - even if it is twenty or so years late ;)

Moon Cresta is a good game for a 4-way vertical setup (it's only 2-way left and right)

Minor update. Got the smoked lexan back today. Looks really good, although the camera picks up every invisible speck of dust.

I should have the controls mounted over the weekend.

LOVELY!  I love it!

Hows the viewing angle though up on a bar?   Seems like you have to be sitting over it a bit.

I'm going to keep it on a lower table so the viewing angle is at 45 degrees or so. Much lower than that and it does start to get dim.
