Title: switching out joys to p360
Post by: deadmoney5 on December 02, 2005, 06:20:57 pm
I have a SlikStik Classic with Competitions for the 1 and 2 player joystick.

I want to swap the 1 player out and install a P360.  The problem is that the competition (and all other joys) use the COM and NC for each microswitch, while the P360 just uses the direction wires and 1 ground (along with the 5v).

Since the competitions have been daisy-chained together with other buttons and such, will I break the "chain" if I just leave the unused connectors unconnected?

Or do I have to somehow connect all of the wires (which I won't be using anyore) back together from the old competition?

You should be just fine leaving them disconnected.

They are chained through the common wire, not through the switches the wire connects to.

Think of it as a pearl neclace. You have the pearls on a chain. You take some of the pearls off, the chain still connects. It may look a little uglier, but it functions still the same. The connections on a common ground to the switches are like the pearls. The important part is the wire underneath em. :)
