So, is there anyone out there who will dare me to vectorize this entire side art(I will take better pictures when the times comes):

OK, I dare you. ;D
-
Angelfire won't let me view the image. Why not just attach it to the post?

I Double Dog Dare You!
(even without seeing the pic) ;)

I would love to see a vectorized angelfire side art... 8)

Its about time someone did Tapper's side art eh? ;)
can you explain me why you want it vectorized, what's the benefit if you can scan it and clean it. ?
-
it will look nicer, and I can do it. :) also, I kinda rather do it right via vector then try and fill in all the little gaps via raster. In the end vectoring will give it the correct pencil-stroked feel too.

Man, that is going to be one big file.

Not quite. There's a big difference between a pencil stroke and, say a paint, marker or ink stroke. Pencil tends to vary in opacity, roughness, etc, etc. An ink stroke tends (more or less) to be completely black and have hard edges. Perfect for vectoring. In this case, there's alot of texture to pencil strokes. You will lose all that with vector shapes.
-
I'm going to give it a try vectorwise first, then if it does loose a lot of pencilness I'll rasterize it instead. Either way, I'm going to do this thing finally.

Good luck man. The detailing is pretty intricate.

I'm not conviced,I don't see why straitghts lines will improve the look, this art has a huge lot of details and colors gradients. it will not be improved (at contrario it will loose a lot) beeing traced.
I'm ready to bet thath this project will be an endless project ;)
good luck
-
Welp, that's why he asked us to dare him. He's coocoo loco!! ;D
-
I think a project like that deserves a triple dog dare!
Good luck.

I am willing to bet my left nut this doesn't get vectorized.

I am also willing to bet your left nut that this doesn't get vectorized
But good luck doing it anyways
-
I'm going to go ahead and call that image flat-out impossible to vectorize. Unless you're some kind of sadist who is going to trace every single pencil stroke it will never look the same / as good.
Don't even bother.
-
You must bother. The dare didn't say it had to be good :P
Besides... Bones' left nut is on the line!
-
Another thing.
Colorize it.
The first 100 or so Tapper cabinets had COLOR side art.
Get that perfect and you can easily print it up and sell it. Plus, it looks soooo much cooler than non-color.
-
OK!
I dare you...
To vecotrize...
Bones' left nut!
:)
-
Actually, the image on that color artwork is different.

It is, and that would be very suitable to vectorize.
-
If you vectorize both of them then does bones lose both nuts?

I am not exactly digging the way this thread is going....

Damn Bones... it's gonna hurt when you put'em in the scanner!! :D

I'm having an issue getting my camera to take good enough pictures to link together at the moment. It seems it will take a little longer to get the inital side art pic to work on. I'll keep all of you posted.
As for the colourized version, I'll need good scans of the colour shades and locations of the colours... so seeing as I don't have a colour-sidded machine, I probably won't do colour any time soon.

if you still perssist in vectorize this side art, don't rely on photos. you will introduce a lot of distorsion. your best way will be to try to scan it.
-
I'm willing to bet Bones' left AND right nut this doesn't get vectorized.
I have no reason to dare you, since you either want to do it, or you just want the attention. We've already got a tommy. Do it or shutty.
-
I guess that would be me ;D
Just popped to say hi
Dont do this sideart if small children are hanging around. It could be traumatic.
-
So how's your progress? :dizzy:
Bones, are your nuts still intact?
-
Both my boys are still firm and ripe.....
-
Lets see..... 2 hours overtime, plus
A week or so wait to get it from the States
