So i am having trouble gettting mamewah to work.

11/23/2005 7:43:47 PM Mode 800 x 600 @ 60, 32bit colour not available
Try a layout which is not 800x600, 60hz, 32 bit colour.
Also all games in mame when i run it have sound tearing and repeating. I have the newest sound drivers for my motherboard, and my sound works fine in other emulators just a problem in mame i have messed with sound latency with no luck. Any suggestions?
Lower the sample rate, or get a quicker PC!
Are there any other frontends other than mamewah that allow AVI previews and can launch johnny5 or cpviewer, and lots of emulators?
Yes, see the software section of this site and the 'Frontend List' thread at the top of this board.

I have tried other layouts, I tried to pick something similar to my desktop so that is why i went with the 600*800. Other layouts give the same error. So any other suggestions.
I will try lowering the sample rate, but I am quite sure the pc speed is not the problem. I have a AMD 55fx processor and 1 gig of RAM so i should be good. And it is with every game including pacman.
Thanks

So i solved the sound issue. Lowering the sample rate didn't do the trick. I turned off triple buffering and that seemed to do it. The sound is fine now. I am still having trouple with Mamewah. I have tried it seems like everything. I still get the same error. Any more suggestions.

Are you on win 98?
-
No I am on windows XP sp2. I have all directX9c installed and all the system files also. I have .NET framework also installed. Still would like to try out any other suggestions. If i need i can post INI for mamewah if that might help. I would really love to get mamewah up and running. Would trying out 1.62b9 worth a shot, or if i cant get it to work in 1.61 then 1.62 would be pointless? Still willing to try any suggestions.

The log says it cannot select that video mode, so that is the problem. Try a different colour depth (16bit) - just edit the layout you have with the Layout Designer to do this.
If most modes do not work then I expect it is an issue with your video driver (try updating it).
