Title: Anyone know how to lock down an XP User Account
Post by: Jabba on November 25, 2005, 09:50:16 am
I'm running Windows XP SP2. I set up another user for the kids. The intention is to only allow them to click on icons I place on the the desktop (i.e., Mame32). No access to Windows Explorer, Control Panel, Internet, etc, just the icons I put for them on the Desktop.

I've looked at the options in User Management off of control panel, right clicked, etc, and theres nothing there to do this? I think that there there a utility I don't know how to get to.

Thanks for the advice...

Services and what they do:

Group Policies:

Use group policies to limit what they can do.  IIRC, it displays a definition for each process when you run gpedit.msc.
