Title: Pooch screwed Visual Pinbal in 3DArcade
Post by: jopenner on November 24, 2005, 07:58:17 am
I have spent a couple of months hacking and slashing 3DArcade to meet my needs. I have created my own menus etc., and have trimmed off all the fat. I use the Listmenu only when launching MAME. When my FE loads I have it go to the SSMenu first, and then to the genre menu (favourites, Platforms etc.) and then to the game launch menu. This all works great, but in my pursuit of trimming fat, I inadvertently disabled Visual Pinball. When I go to the SSMenu, I only have "Arcade" to choose from. I have messed around with the List Manger to create a link to Visual Pinball, but it is a total disaster. What is the layman's way creating a "Pinball" menu after the "Arcade" menu in the SSMenu? Also, how do I get the fancy little bitmaps that say Pinball to display once this is all setup?
Your help on this matter would really be appreciated as this is the last step to configuring my arcade/pinball machine.

In the listmanager click on the selset field. Choose add a new selset from the popup. call it for example pinball. then add a gamelist to the set by clicking in the gamelist field. (Then assing skin and arcade cfgs to the gamelist and/or selset as usual.)

Because your selset is named "pinball" the fe will look in dummies\marquees for pinball.png or pinball.jpg so put the bitmap there to have it displayed in the menu.

Actually dont call it pinball. You probably have already an emulator named like that. And selsets and emulators cant have the same index name. (Sharing descriptive names as shown in the menu's is not a problem of course ;) )
