Title: Racing simulators ( Anyone made these?)

Has anyone made one of these?
I doctored the large screen picture from the first picture to hopefully inspire some of us to make one.
Having a CNC router I am hoping to design and sell flatpacked versions of something similar.
What would people be prepared to pay for a flatpacked unpainted version?
You just screw it together, paint it and add your own computer etc.

Looks cool.  However most of us cheap-os here aren't willing to pay much of anything.  We can build or refurb old cabs, and don't like proprietary controls and such.

Seems like a home-based setup would be quite impractical and exprensive...but whatever floats your boat.  I work at a Dave&Busters arcade as a game tech and we have a Carismo machine like the one pictured below...It has force feedback and is very realistic...It also costs about 5 bucks a play ::) 
In fact, the force-feedback is so realistic that the machine will shake so violently when you crash that it will sometimes reboot.  Also it is PC based.
Need for Speed Underground, Ferrari F355, and the original Daytona are in our arcade as well and I prefer to play those because the linked play is so much more fun.  We've actually gotten rid of many of the good racing games we've had because redemption games seem to be where the industry is headed according to my manager...That and that overrated Derby Owners Club.

Fully agreed, but I am talking about using your own computer and plugin controls like Thrustmaster etc.
There is heaps of racing software that runs on a PC.

Here is a fantastic FREE racing simulator http://www.racer.nl it is fully customisable, and even allows you to make your own tracks, cars etc.

Did I mention it was FREE :)
