Title: go7-cbo flyback
Post by: tonyd2084 on November 22, 2005, 03:24:57 pm
I have a go7 flyback that smoked upon power-up.  I promptly shut it down and discharged so I could visually inspect the chassis.  I noticed a nice crack on the side of the flyback.

My question is, would this normally damage other components as well?

Thanks....

Sometimes it can take out the horizontal output transistor and the small soldered-in fuse over by the gray filter capacitor.

Discharge that large filter cap before working on that chassis!

(If the fuse that Ken is talking about is blown the cap can hold a large charge for weeks)
