I used to "waste" so much money on this and Narc.

Quarter munching at its best :).

I'd buy that for a dollar!
I used to play that game way too much...

Haha, this game was my sole inspiration for getting the Midway Arcade Treasures disc.

I had both the Super NES version and the PCB. They did an excellent job with the SNES port.

That was an arcade fav of mine. But I never wanted a port of it until it came out on PS2. Finally a controller that would do the job!

There's a game called Mutant Storm that plays like SmashTV. It rocks, you should check it out. There's a PC version, X-Box Live version, and they were supposed to have an X-Box 360 version at or near launch.

SMASH TV ROCKS!
I made sure that I had four joy sticks on the third horizontal side of my cocktail cab just for this game.

Big Money!!
Big Boobies!!

Smash TV was always best with two players -- like Guantlet you could work together, watch each other's backs, divide and conquer, and fight over the weapons and prizes. And it ate less of my quarters when someone else was helping.
I'm bummed that I only have two sticks on my cab because multiplayer isn't really an option. Although I suppose I could use a USB dual-shock pad's analog controls for P2.

Not the same but...you can use 4 of the buttons as the fire directionals.

Yup! I'm going to try and run two versions. One set up with two joysticks (for single player) and the other set up to use buttons, in case I want to play 2-players.

Yeah, I had completely forgotten about Gauntlet and Wizard of Wor and how much I had played these in the Arcade. I came across them by going through Stewie's Games post over in EE... When I played them again after so many years, its like, Deja Vu! Wow. Cool. I remember this one!!!
