This refers to AfterDark 3.2 - the screensaver.

This program was created before screensavers were part of windows.

If you really want a cheap/easy way to hide it, right-click the taskbar, and select Properties, then customize.  Find the corresponding icon, and set it as always hide.   Now it can only be seen if you hit the little blue arrow by the taskbar...not sure if thats what youre looking for-seems too easy.

I don't think that works. That can hide items in the notification area of the taskbar (by the clock). This app is running minimized in the main taskbar area (where Word and Outlook and other open apps show up).

SOrry.  Im not sure if this would be applicable, but an app with $sys$ will hide itself from teh entire computer, so that may solve your problem.
