Title: Creating Blinking 5 Volt Lights?
Post by: jopenner on November 18, 2005, 09:57:33 pm
I have a couple of the Happ's illuminated buttons on my cab that I had planned to light with my Ultimarc LED harness, which is hooked up to my iPac4.
The problem, is that these lights rarely, if ever, light up.
I was thinking about powering the illuminated buttons with a 5 volt line, but wanted to know the best way to get the lights to flash.
Is it a capaistor that I need?  If so, what rating do I use on a 5 Volt set-up?
Thanks.

John

A capacitor alone will not make an LED blink.

Rat Shack used to sell a blinking LED. I'm sure there available somewhere still. Building a circuit for this is overkill. There are many blinky things to be hacked.
