I've read some great stuff here recently regarding wood shops.
If a guy were to subscribe to a woodworking magazine, what would you recommend? American Woodworker, etc
Also, what websites would you recommend for tips, reviews, plans etc.?

It matters what your into...... I really enjoy WoodSmith (plans with more a furnature base with great insight of using pretty basic woodworking tools to get the job done) and ShopNotes (More for building a router table or storage cabinets for your shop) and have made quite a few things out of both Mags.

Fav mags are Fine Wood Working and Shop Notes. I look forward to getting those more than others. Shop notes is like... Would what MacGyver do? (IMHO).
Fine Wood Working also has a good site with subscription videos and fresh and archived content:

For online wood working plans I don't think you can beat http://www.freeww.com/index.html
Also, I recently picked up my first WW mag a few weeks ago, it was "America's Best-Ever Woodworking Projects and Shop Tips 2006" (worst title ever?) It goes step by step through 31 projects, from bookcases to clocks to bunk beds, and has a ton of shop tips, it appears to be a great read (to an inexperienced woodworker at least), unfortunately I think its going to be a once a year special put together by Wood magazine, so I guess I have to remember to look for it again next June/July.

I've found answers to lots of questions by Googling the WoodWeb.com (http://woodweb.com) site.
Lately I've been looking into how to finish milled MDF, I found lots of good info here http://www.woodweb.com/knowledge_base/Priming_MDF_RaisedPanel_Doors.html
