Hi All
Ok I apologise for the fact that this question has been asked a thousand times before but, I want to connect a Happs super joystick to my PC through the soundcard Game port. I have found several circuits showing how to do this but no consistancy seems to run with them. Some circuits show two of the switches normally closed and the other two normally open and make the comment that this is how it has to be, other circuits show all the switches wired normally open?. All I want is a good delay free circuit that will give me the axis movements and one button (yes only one button) I dont mind the complexity of the circuit providing it is clear and preferably with brief instructions and pin numbers (as an electronics wizard i am not). I dont want to go the route of hacking a gamepad as for my basic requirments don't need it. Any help with a good solid circuit that is not going to fry my PC or soundcard would be most appreciated.

I say, go for an I-Pac. If you don't want to hack a GAMEPAD (which is easy anyway), then an I-pac (thru the keyboard port) will do.

Wire Pin 1 to the COM tab on each switch (even the button switches).
Wire Pin 3 to the NO tab on the LEFT switch.
Wire a 100K resistor from Pin 3 to the NC tab on the LEFT Switch.
Wire a 100K resistor from Pin 3 to the NC tab on the Right Switch.
Wire Pin 6 to the NO tab on the UP switch.
Wire a 100K resistor from Pin 6 to the NC tab on the UP Switch.
Wire a 100K resistor from Pin 6 to the NC tab on the Down Switch.
Now for the button(s):
Button #1 - Wire the NO tab of a button switch to Pin 2
Button #2 - Wire the NO tab of a button switch to Pin 7
If You are only going to have 1 Player you can also wire up:
Button #3 - Wire the NO tab of a button switch to Pin 10
Button #4 - Wire the NO tab of a button switch to Pin 14
