do people live off bread and milk or something, i never understood that. neither bread nor milk is used in preparation of ramen noodles, these people must be doing something wrong

I never understood the whole bread and milk thing, but guaranteed when it snows the stores sell out of that stuff

What does the title of a thread actually have to do with the thread anyway.

It snowed pretty heavy for an hour or so a couple of Saturdays ago as I was driving through Harvard Square. I've never seen so many 'tards driving in one place in all my life- it was kind of a shock when I first saw weather like that (4 years ago), but why don't people get used to it?
Why is it such a big surprise when it snows that people totally forget how to drive? "White stuff falling; what the hell is it!? Oh fark, it's snow! Is that a one-way street? Why is he beeping at me? Oh well."

They should give driving test in the snow to allow people to drive in the snow

You were in Harvard Square... it wasn't the snow.  They probably hadn't even noticed.

I love giving the gas a goose to slide the back of the car around a turn, but for some reason, people behind me always freak out like I've just ran over a seal or something even though it's CLEAR I have the truck back under control and actually am driving normally when through the turn.

I guess it's guys like me that make people ass hats.

See, I do TOO contribute ;D

What sucks is it hasn't snowed here once!  I think that buying that snowblower will guarantee no snow here this winter, just because I'm itching to use it!  >:(

Now to go eat the bread I won't be needing.

Forget bread and milk.   I load up on Whiskey and ammunition.  Whiskey to trade for fuel and food, and ammunition to protect it and keep Tina Turner and her psychos away.

Whoops, meant work :)

It's snowing now.
Unfortunately you know what snowing means, time to waste gas to warm up the car :(

Tina Turner and her psychos are only in his head, unfortunately.

He forgot to add "stock up on my meds".

man, Iheard two accidents today.  It's like people forgot that snow is slippery.

More like people with 4 wheel drive forgot that it doesn't help with stopping.

Always cracks me up.  I'm crawling along in the snow in a 4wd truck and some sportscar goes whizzing by me...

I used to have an AWD wagon... it was nearly impervious to MA snow.  We get a lot of snow.

4WD, on the other hand, isn't nearly as useful.   Too bad most asshats think it is the same thing.

There was one bad winter that I ventured onto a "closed road".

More often than that, we get asshats trying to drive through flooded roads.

"Well, I figured, I'm in a car right?  So I should be able to make it through 3 feet of water.  The doors are closed."

Its all about the differentials.  My Wrangler had locking diffs front and back.  Made a heck of a chatter when turning too sharply.

The 4wd on my Explorer isn't bad, both back wheels do spin, I suspect some kind of limited slip.  Never dug into it, being this is my 'grown up' car.

Most 'generic' 4wd is no better than 2wd on really loose surfaces.  One front and one rear wheel spinning still gets you stuck.

I suspect a plot to STEAL my whiskey and bullets.  I need to adjust my foil hat.

It always seems that most vehicles I see off the road are the utility vehicles.  People must think they are immune to the natural effects of ice on the road.

It's the visibility.

It's really hard to drive with your head up your ass.

Wonder if they have some kind of ergonomic seat for that condition?  Kinda like lumbar support, but with this one you squeeze the bulb and your head pops out???

The inventor would make a mint.

4x4 is only good in snow when you can lock the diffs (or like on my rangerover where it picks up wheels slipping and locks them for you)

was in the middle of nowhere a couple of years ago and we got hit with heavy snow, the farmer where we were had to get home on his tractor, (couldnt get his pickup to move because of traction control problems), he was convinced that we were not going to be able to get home, took 5 hours to do 45 miles but got home with no problems whatsoever (came to one hill where nothing was getting up, sat at the bottom waiting to see a clear gap all the way, once it was clear just drove as normal and it went straight up)

on the road back down to my house I did some playing, the only way I could get it to slide anywhere was sideways on sharp bends, accelerating hard / braking hard didnt slip at all, put that down to a combination of good tires and good abs system.

I once got my Bronco stuck, but that was only because I ran up under a tree stump that lifet my front tires off the ground. once the tow truck got me off the stump I ended up having to tow the tow truck back out of the area I was in.
