Title: Cocktail CP backlight wiring question
Post by: markrvp on November 15, 2005, 03:49:23 pm
I'm restoring a Pacman cocktail cabinet.  On the back of the translucent plexi there are two lamps that light up the CP.  These appear to be 12v lamps but they are wired in series.  Wouldn't this drop each lamp to 1/2 power output?

Is it correct that these are wired in series or should they be wired in parallel?  If in series, do I still use 12v lamps?  Please forgive the questions, I'm a photographer not an electrician (and my physics teacher was an idiot).

WOW you sure are a photographer! That's the nicest "parts" pic I've ever seen posted!

The original control panel has the lamps wired in parallel. They are 12 volt # 194 or 161 lamps.

Thank you Ken.  That was the exact answer I was looking for.

RayB - thanks for the compliment.

Just for everyone's information, ALL Midway cocktail cabinets used 12 volt lamps and they are wired in parallel.
