Title: Best action to take next
Post by: missioncontrol on November 15, 2005, 12:35:25 pm
O.K. I think I've had my first scamming from e-bay.

bought a metronome for my daughter to use for here piano practice. Guy posted my positive feedback as soon as he got the money, but I still havn't recieved the product and it's going on five weeks.

he didn't reply to my last e-mail message last week about my concern that I havn't recieved the product.

I used a postal money order for the purchase. I just e-mailed him to let him know that I am getting very concerned since he now isn't replying to my e-mails and I still havn't recieved the product.

My question is what should be my next course of action?

Some people contact the PD local to his address and report it as possible mail fraud.  Often they will send over and officer to check on the person, see if they are dead on the floor or something, only to find the guy is fine and then tell him to get his ass in gear or he has committed a felony.

The package will be in the mail the same day he sees a badge and hears the word felony.

I think the fact that you paid with a postal money order will increase your leverage if you choose to go the mail fraud route.

Of course, the package could be sitting in some mail warehouse ticking away and no one will touch the thing.

Would you touch a ticking package?

well I'll give him a day to respond to the email I sent before I started this thread then I guess I'll call his local PD.
