You shouldn't be in xp...... are you running xp lite by any chance?

The reason I ask is the vbruntime files are supposed to be included with xp, which is why I don't do install packages for my applications anymore. :)

I suggest to make sure that your xp install is ok.....

In the meantime get a comdlg32 here:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?comdlg32

If you have anymore troubles let me know.

I did a search for comdlg32.ocx and it is there.

OK...what the heck! ::)

I went ahead and played around anyway...and updated the OCX with a newer version (in the system32 directory) and it worked.

Something to note so you don't have to to answer this again!

Thanks for making this! ;D

OK, now it is working, but...I can't get the labels to show up on any of the buttons/joysticks, even with the default.lof?  THe labels showing the game, etc show up, but not any of the buttons or joysticks.

Could this be related?

OK, forget it...it was a new mame just to test with Johnny5, and I had not created the mame ini yet...it works now.

Should I keep posting incessant rants to myself, or save everyone the pain?   :-[  yeeesh...

Last post...but if anyone is curious how using a camera shot of your CP may work in J5...see beow.  (graphics are a little stretchy & out of whack, as I am designing on 1024 for a 640 machine...)  Looks cleaner on a 640 screen...
