Title: Rest in Peace Eddie Guerrero
Post by: AmericanDemon on November 13, 2005, 12:22:23 pm
WWE.com has just reported that Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero Has passed away. He was found dead in his hotel room this morning.

This is a sad day in the world of pro wrestling.  Eddie was always a joy to watch in the ring.  I'll miss seeing him in the ring.

Man.. this one is tough.  Im still shocked over his death.  The man gave 100% everytime he was in the ring.  He will be greatly missed.

RIP Eddie.

Eddie was a class act.  He came through Louisville several times for WWE and OVW house shows.  I saw him last summer at an OVW house show at Six Flags.  It rained heavily that day and the show had to be canceled.  He stayed and signed autographs inside his trailer for well over an hour.  He came outside in the rain and stomped through the puddles just like a little kid.  He was a lot of fun to watch.

Another visit, he had just worked a particlarly tough match.  As he was leaving the ring he noticed several kids and adults in wheelchairs at ringside.  He jumped over the security rails and spent several minutes hugging and signing autographs commenting "This is what it is really all about!"  My son Kev was one of the guys in the group, he will never forget that show.  We talked about it a bit today, it's sad.

He was really just a regular guy, an addict trying to recover in one of the toughest businesses to work and recover in.

He died with over 4 years clean, no small feat.
He seemed to just be hitting his stride, enjoying life clean.

I read a few minutes ago that it is believed that he died of a heart attack.

Be at peace Eddie.

I met him twice, talked with him for about 15 minutes one of those times.

It was only a year and a half a go that Eddie held the title of wwe champ. This is the lesson that life is short and should be take with every step. NO ONE did a better frog splash than Eddie. If it was a heart attack, than that is not uncommon with the drug abuse some of these athletes put themselves through just to stay on top and keep going. It is mostly sad that such a young performer should pass so early. All I can say is thank you Eddie for some amazing matches.

Over the past few weeks he had been looking very pale, very weak.  His color was wrong.  He has been showing all of the classic signs of a person with heart trouble, even on television and in character.  I wouldn't be surprised at all if his heart just gave out on him slowly over the course of the last few weeks.

With his history of narcotics, alcohol, and probably steroids, it sadly was only a matter of time.  I'm just surprised it was so soon.

Rest in peace Eddie.

Even though its never good to see a tragedy like this -
It is nice to see the human side of the wrestlers
when they come together to pay tribute to a fallen friend.

Tonights show and Fridays should be good.

Owen's tribute show was done in very good taste,
I expect nothing less tonight.

It will be interesting to see what the cause of death really
was.  The head shot he took last week was a true head
shot from Kennedy (Taped last Tuesday when Batista hurt
his back as well) Eddie tried to get his arms up, but the
chair got to his head first.

I know its a far shot, but I hope nothing stemmed from that,
or Kennedy would have a hard time with that I would think.

Godspeed Eddie.

There is a repeat of the Monday Night show on TSN in 8 mins.  Going to watch it... and I haven't watched wrestling in years.  I still can't believe Eddie is gone.  He was a class act!!  RIP!

Ah... I'm not really up on their taping schedules anymore.

Was Taboo Tuesday actually on tuesday this year?

Yup.  And just like last year, the fan voting gimmick was entirely transparent and useless.  I would definitely not miss Taboo Tuesday if they did away with it next year.

Does anyone actually believe the fan voting is even tallied?

I never thought it was.
When you vote on their site, it just
replies.. 'thank you for voting'

I'd believe it if I actually saw vote tallies
before and after the individual would vote.

I"m sure its as fake as everything else out there.
