Title: Speaker wiring help please
Post by: spystyle on November 12, 2005, 11:59:38 pm
Hello from Maine.

I have 3 speakers on a cab. One is large and in the center and the other two are small are spread out.

I intend to use the large speaker for 80% of the volume and have the small speakers play at 20% simply to create "stereo imaging"

The amp I have is two channel, no balance knob.

I'd like the center channel to be "single channel stereo" and the two small speakers to be L and R.

How would I wire this? Do I connect L+ and R- to the center channel to create "single channel stereo" and run an additional pot to the little speakers to turn them down to 20% of the main volume control pot?

Is there something like a pot that I can wire to control balance?

Thank you!
Craig

I would guess you use the following setup

Well I called Radio Shack and the highly trained teenagers over there claimed there is nothing like a potentiometer that handles balance. So I looked all about and found this:

I suppose I will wire it like that and add a second volume control to the small speakers to keep them at 20%
