Title: Which Pinball Program to use?
Post by: jopenner on November 11, 2005, 01:49:17 pm
Hi,

I have installed Visual Pinball on my MAME unit, but was trying to figure out if there is something better that I could incorporate into my Emulaxian/3D Arcdae FE to run pinball games.
Thanks.

John

Have you looked at "Future Pinball"?
http://futurepinball.com/

- Nevermind.  It looks like he's hit his allocated bandwidth.  Maybe someone around here has it and can ftp it?  It will be available again soon from cnet.

The link is down while he moves it over to CNet.  I'll try again later.
Thanks again.

Really too bad that he wont include vpinmame com interface.  I understand that it brings a group they don't like.  But it would be really really cool if they had it.

I can't wait to try it myself!

Invasion 2 Pinball is a great alternate Pinball game with greate ideas, that max Galaga too....

The only downside, you need a mouse to navigate the level menu (so AutoHotKey may been used to emulate a mouse).

Yeah, I would prefer futur pinball over VP because the physics are more realistic.

You will also want to check out hte microsoft pinball series and pro-pinball series (in particular big race usa and fantastic journey).

And I will argue saying big race is the best :)

While I'd prefer not to use a mouse, it's worth giving a try as I have a trackball.  Thanks for the link.

The company that made crystal caliburn has it and several others on their website.

http://www.littlewing.co.jp  (I think)

Great little game, but doesn't compete with the ProPinball games, and is frankly one of the easier pinball games once you learn to hit the two ramps consistently. A pretty simple 2 ramp layout with several targets to hit and a lot of fun to play.

BTW, I have many grails to my name. Gotta get that left ramp then right ramp quick skill down. Don't try to trap the ball with the flippers because you'll run out of time.
