Title: Monitor
Post by: CPickler on November 10, 2005, 06:35:06 pm
I've got a 19 inch Wells Gardner from November of 1988.  I think it is actually the isolation transformer that gave out on my system, but the story is, it isn't working anymore.

I am looking to replace it with another 19 inch arcade screen, prefereably one that doesn't require an isolation transformer.  Where could I go about getting one?  I am in Saint Louis, MO.

Try www.happcontrols.com or www.arcadeshop.com

Since you're in St. Louis there should be a large coin-operated equipment distributor near you where you can see, try, and buy one in person. Look in your Yellow Pages under the heading of Amusement Devices.

Ok, I didn't realize the new monitors required isolation transformers as well.

So the board where the power comes in has three things on it, I believe 1 is the power supply, 1 is the isolation transformer and I am not sure what the other thing is.  I'm going to take a picture.

Nevermind, I found the old power switch was grounding the system out.

You could have eliminated the isolation transformer as a problem by checking it's voltage output with a multimeter.  If it was putting out 110V (or 220, depending where you live) it's fine.
