Title: T-molding option
Post by: Ayrk on November 08, 2005, 12:02:30 pm
Hola fellow BYOACers.

I was looking through a Rockler catalog yesterday and noticed they sold both T-molding and the slot cutter.

I've ordered other woodworking stuff from them in the past and been satisfied and I seem to remember people saying they had a hard time finding the router bit.

I believe you can visit rockler.com for more info.

I'm in the process of building my first cabinet.

I found the 1/16 slot router bit at Lowes for $15.95 and the arbor was another $10.95. That might help if your looking for a place locally to pick them up!  I've attached the links to the products on their site.

I went with MLCS Woodworking for the router bits, part#5341. They had a sale and free shipping at the time, so it ended up being $16 for everything.

For t-molding I ordered free samples (with free shipping) and then the final product, two rolls of 20' at t-molding.com.

Both places were great in my book. :)

Another vote for MLCS - I bought the a 1/2" Flush trim bit, 3 wing slot cutter bit and the arbor for $25 delivered.

For what it's worth, got the same thing at my local LOWES for $30.

IMHO, go with whatever is easy and works..

Agreed! And the easiest thing for me was to order the part from MLCS from my computer in my PJ's for 1/2 the price of Lowes delivered to my door. The only reason I would've got it from Lowes was if I needed it the day I bought it, so if you are a few days away from needing the 3 wing slot cutter, want to save a little money and don't mind placing an online order - check out MLCS.
