Title: Saw an Orignal Missle Command Tonight,
Post by: ften on November 05, 2005, 09:04:48 pm

My friend recommended this Italian place, said it's the best he had in Atlanta. Much to my suprise they had a mint Missile Command stand-up there. Perfect marquee, side art, original controls, it was damn pretty. The owner said he bought it from a thrift shop for 45 bucks. He said it worked for about a week and then the video went on it, which is why I didn't get a chance to play it. He said he was planning on getting it fix or fixing it himself, gave him this site for reference. Wish I could wander into a thrift store a pickup a cabinet in perfect condition for 45 bucks.
Restaurant was Saporitos, they did have really good cannolis.

DOH!   You should have offered him $100 for it in its broken state and been its new owner!

I found a complete working Tron machine at a thrift shop... marked $25, but it was half-price-wednesday...

I gave her $13 and told her to keep the change.  :)

It worked for about a week too, and then it got caught in a flood and absorbed about 30 gallons of water into its base, and my parents threw it away because I'd got a job in Omaha and left it in KC with them.

*sigh*

Anyway... back to the topic at hand... aren't Missile Command trac-balls the coolest?

Wow, that's a real rare find.  Missle Command is one of my favorites.  The other day I saw a commercial for a local bowling alley and they showed a picture of a kid playing Robotron.  My jaw dropped!  Now I have on my list of things to do "go bowling", and I don't particularly care for bowling.    :)

Mmm, cannolis...

I've been really lucky in this hobby over the last year. I have a place where I got a Tron, Crystal Castles, and a Tempest all for a total of $50. The Tron cab is really rough, but they all play.

I picked up a Donkey Kong Jr. cab with complete DK and DK III kits for $100. That has been my only super good deal.

I'm hoping that another one will appear soon. It's been about a year since that last deal.
