hows it going..
i want to build a classic arcade joystick using metal sheeting..
i have already made one using wood, but i find it to cumbersome to have in your lap.. partially due to its height.. i can't make it smaller with the standard height microswitch buttons..
i saw buttons that would fit my needs at this url:
http://www.highway.net.au/parts/buttons_and_joysticks/4680.html
thing is they dont do credit cards.. and most other sites have a limit whereby u gotta spend over a hundred or something.. and if you dont they tack on 25 extra for there hassle.. i understand why but i'd rather not pay the extra for the sake of 20 buttons..
im in Eire and was wondering if someone knew a more local site that would suffice?..

Happs sells a low profile button similar to the one you posted:
http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/601200xx.htm
I used these in a set of YDKJ (You Dont Know Jack) low profile controllers and got around the Happ minimum order by buying from ponyboy who is a member of BYOAC and Happs parts distributor.
Not sure if the height requirements fit your needs but another option for you to consider.

is ponyboy a website or someones username? (i'm new, sorry bout typo)

I read somewhere that those buttons mentioned earlier on Happ's website are the same as Sanwa 24mm buttons. 24 mm buttons are actually very small, and I can't imagine using those as the main play buttons (they are actually used for start buttons in Japanese cabinets). You could also get the regular type of Sanwa button at www.himuragames.com . All Japanese style buttons are pretty "low profile", so they would work in your case.
