Title: MAMEWAH problem
Post by: kenmelk on November 03, 2005, 10:17:35 pm
Hey I had my machine running fine except i had some game not display on my monitor, you could hear the game in the backround so i know it loaded, however the screen was black, i am working that out right now.
Anyway my machine was running great (mame v99, mamewah v1.61) the i started it up and i had no games in mamewah!  Nothing!  I tried to generate the list again and it looked as though it was going to compile the list and nothing, no games in the lists at all!  Now i am using mamewah config tool, so i went there, deleted everything and started a "new emulator" i configured it for my system (i.e. paths, file names, etc)
also i used J crouse's config in the tool (it is an option to download a config file, and his is the one i used) anyway all is cool right?  Nope, i open up mamewah and STILL nothing in the list!  I cannot figure out what the heck i did!  I was trying to get my BETA BRITE sign to work, and i was changing and adding stuff in my mamewah.ini but that should not have done anything to stop the list from showing right?  Also i checked into my mamewah.ini file and all the paths and file names are correct there.  I looked at my mame.ini file all is fine there also.  Next thing i did was try to look at my mame.ini file in my mamewah directory, and i could only find it in the "backup" file in mamewah.  However i have like 0000.ini config file(s) in my ini folder in MAMEWAH directory.  there is a few differnt 0000-x.ini (with x being a number) that seem to be the same.  I am SOOOOOOOO confused right now!!  All i want to do is play GALAGA!!!!!!!!

Maybe Mamewah Config renamed some of your files...the 0000.ini etc. are probably your old emuname.ini files.  Take a look in each of the files to identify them and rename if neccessary.

Also make sure you have the 'main' list selected when trying to generate the list.

I got it, I cheated, I used the system restore feature of win XP, and went back to the good setup, now all is PERFECT!

...except the beta brite sign!
