I know this has been answered before, but i cannot find it anywhere. How do you "force" teh ATI driver to install or reinstall? I cannot see the screen to get it to install. when i use the svideo out, i get a top to bottom split screen. I have a VGA CABLE for my 15KHZ monitor, and cannot use it cause i cannot get the driver to load. I get an error message after windoes boots saying canot load ATI control panel, missing or wrong driver. It is really frustrating, been working 3 days on this now, and the scrollong marquee thing (beta brite see post in software thread if you can help there please). I had teh AVGA card working when i first installed it, the driver loaded and the control panel worked great. Then my kids did something, I do not know what and the screen was at a wacky resolution, i tried to go back to the classic 640x288, and everything went downhill from there. I installed another video card with an S-video out to use on my 15Khz monitor to try and fix the problem, but no luck as of yet. I reinstalled teh AVGA and got teh error message, i have used windows add/remove programs to get rid of teh old ATI stuff it loaded, but i cannot get rid of the damn driver to do a fresh install for the AVGA card. PLEASE any help would be great!
Thanks,
Ken

I believe the file you're looking for is cat-uninstaller.exe. ATI (www.ati.com) recommends using this tool before updating your Catylyst drivers. That being said, I have standard Radeon video cards, not the AVGA, so YMMV.

I've just had some trouble with the ArcadeVGA driver, probably totally unrelated to this thread but I bought my card last year and got another CD with the driver on it this year with my optipac and it would not install at all. Just said this ATI driver is not compatible with your card! Mine has 2 VGA outputs where as the new cards appear to have a VGA and TV out instead. Maybe try an earlier driver? Ultimarc state that you should use the latsest they supply but it does not install at all with the older card. The old driver works fine though.
