I just bought and received some of these Translucent buttons from Happ and i wanted to know if there is a preferred method for lighting them. (I'm sure I can figure out something, but if there is an easier way, I'm all for it).
I've seen some prefer Leds, but others say the light is too direct and can't see it from an angle.
Any how-tos? I need to know bulbs, socket and wiring (I don't want to re-invent the wheel)

If ya do a search you will find some good threads on this. Try a search for CLEAR BUTTONS.
I believe that the best solution was to make a 1/4 inch washer out of white plastic and drill two small holes on sides of the washer to stick in LEDs. The washer sits between control panel and button nut.
I will be doing this myself next month with UV LEDs for that black light effect that I got going on in the rec room.

Thanks Rakoon! I saw the topic with the other kind of button (Paddle(?)) that showed drilling holes into the side and mounting the lights like that, but I didn't think about creating a washer, for the buttons I've got.
Any recommendations where to get plastic that thick? (I can lookup a local Plastic dealer, anything else?)

There were two threads both started by Shawnzilla. The second thread (at least 7-10pages) has several examples of how we all did this. Also look at the posts by Knievel for what plastic to order. It is the stuff used to make jigs in woodworking and there was a direct link to the website order page.
Just do a search for Translucent and enter Shawnzilla as the person who started the thread and you will find it.
BTW, If I had the answers off the top of my head I would just tell you to save you the time, but I don't remember.
