Not mine, though... :)
The construction of the 2nd one looks a lot like a Midway/Bally style, but I'm not sure which game it's from.

Alright,
Which one of you bums snatched up that Frontline style rotary controller? ;D Its all my damn wife's fault. She's been on my computer all afternoon and now that I finally get to use it I'm too late ! >:( Oh well, time to go shout at my wife and tell her its her fault that I can't play my favorite game (Frontline) correctly. Then she'll tell me to friggin grow up and stop acting like a 10 year old. :'(

That blasteroids one looks sweet, I assume the "collar" part of it sits on top of the CP?
-
I'd like to get hold of just the knob from that Blasteroids one :)

Just the knob probably wouldn't do you much good. It's molded onto the shaft, and the shaft is a non-standard 1/8" diameter. Here's a pic of mine:

Even though the spinner is entirely enclosed, it is all under the CP.

better watchout Spidermonkey, I did this once with my wife and I did not get SOME for a week. I had to beat the STICK (like back in the old days).

SM,
Email me with an address and I'll send you a Frontline controller free, no strings attached. It's in pretty good shape too.

Thanks for the warning The Nasty but its too late I already told her that I lost an auction because of her and now she's yappan that she wants my "monstrosity" out of the livingroom and down in the basement where it belongs. :( I do have a finished basement and I would like to put it next to my asteroids machine down there but it won't fit through the door even when removing the control panel. I suppose I'll have to take out the whole door jamb to get it down there ::) Wait till she here's that. Maybe she'll change her tune ;) Actually she'll probably tell me that it will just have to go in the garage then. I'll put her out in the garage before I put my masterpiece out there ;D. Thanks to Birdtails I think my controller search is over now though. God bless him ! What a nice guy.

Whoa, that is a sweet discs of tron panel!

Bob Roberts has two differnt "spinners" like the one from Blasteroids, with the five micro switches on the bottom in his Klearance Korner. Since BirdLake probably can only give one away, there is others available.
I am still trying to figure out how that interfac works with 4 micro switches all around the unit, does it work like a spinner or a joystick?
-
It works exactly like a joystick except there is one direction outputting all of the time. The "cog" inside actuates the "up" microswitch when it's pointing up, next click to left it will be actuating the "up" AND the "left" microswitches, next click just the "left" switch and on and on.
The 5th switch is for the push to fire.
If I had put the thing in, I personally would have wired it in parallel to the player one joystick but have a small toggle switch somewhere to "cut" the ground only to the Frontline controller when not in use. Otherwise it will be sending a direction constantly.
