Title: Preventing Escape from AtomicFE
Post by: gonzobrian on October 27, 2005, 09:05:58 pm
I am going to run AtomicFE as my Shell once I get everything set up like I like.  I have an admin "esc" key to exit roms.  I have notice that my 7 year old frequently hits the esc key twice and exits from the FE.  Is there a way to disable the exit from Atomic?  While Atomic is my shell there really is no need to exit.

Hi Gonzobrian,

You can do 2 things.

1- you could change the exit key of Atomic to another key. (it will avoid the problem of the double typing on escape)  And if you define a key you can not access with your cab controls , the exit will be disabled.

2- You can active the password asking on Exit.
(On the "options" tab, check "Ask for password on exiting front end". then click on the Define button. (you can enter a password using only your cab controls ,ex: left left right).
If you choose this option, when you press ESC on the FE, it will prompt you a password before exit.  If you enter a wrong one or after few second if you enter nothing it will go back to the FE.

hope it helps.

Hey Youki!  Thanks for the help.  I did not think about the password option.  Is there a way to change the default lenght of 6 characters?  Delete and back space don't seem to work.
