I acquired 2 Xgaming joysticks via E-bay, but I am not very pleased with the feel. Does anyone have the Wico 360 degree joysticks, and if so, what is your opinion of them? Thanks!

isn't that like comparing a trailer and a mansion?
(and I actually *like* my x-arcade sticks - well they are ok) have you tried adjust the microswitch lever thingies?
*shrug*

EDIT do you have a link to the wico 360's btw? I don't seem em on their joy page... I know the happs360's are the cadillac of joysticks though (making the x-arcade kinda the dodge neons or ???)
EDIT 2 also what about hte feel don't you like? too stiff? too loose? sucks on 4 ways? can't do zangief moves? what games did you like playing that you like the "feel" of? *shrug*

Here is the link to the WICO 360...

I can't locate it on their online catalog, however. maybe it is discontinued?
As for adjusting the microswitches, yes, I have "tweaked" the levers to give me the optimal response, but it is a Geo Metro in comparison to an Arcade quality Wico stick...

Most people that can afford the perfect 360's (presumably from happs? unsure if they are identical or not) love them... I imagine most people stick with Supers/etc... due to price/value ... after all it's a joystick NOT a car... and you can get around town in a geo metro (just not very fashionably or comfortably =P )
If you got the bucks p360's aren't supposed to dissapoint. (note: I dont' actually *have* 360's so hopefully soon someone who does will join the thread =P )
good luck!

Well, I just got my Happ's P360's from UPS today.. I'm at work so I haven't field tested them yet, but I put one together and they feel amazing! I'll probably install them tonight or tomorrow night--so i'll let you guys know soon!

I just ordered a pair of xgaming joysticks from Ebay as well. I needed the buttons and for the extra 10 bucks on ebay, I decided to get the joysticks as well. I have a pair of wico 8-way leaf joysticks here already though. I also have a load of leaf switch pushbuttons. I'll test them against the new microswitch ones. (Reason I need microswitch is because leaf switches require a very thin control panel, such as sheet metal, certainly not the 5/8 MDF I'm using for my upright cab CP). I'll have to test both joysticks to see which I like better.
Thought the xgaming one's looked just as good as the happs supers and were cheaper. I like the 4-way/8-way idea. Oh well, I'll have to see :D

I have built joysticks with both the Wico P360 and the Happ P360. The only difference in terms of "feel" is the spring tension. The Wico spring feels a bit lighter than the Happ. Personally, I like the Wico better.
Here's the joystick I made with the Wico http://tobywong.50megs.com

Where did you buy the wico360 from and how much did it set ya back?

bought it from http://www.starburstcoin.com

Hmm.. do you have a link to their catalog? I'm having trouble finding the wico 360 on that website :(
they work similar to the happ P360's eh? $20CDN sounds cheap.. US $ would be even lower eh??
how do they compare to the happ super? Are there any reviews on em?

In terms of comparing them to other joysticks, I would rate them exactly the same way SNAAKE rated them in another thread.
1)P360
2)Super
3)Competition
4)Ultimate

Right.. I was able to find that one.. but not able to find somewhere to order one..... do you have to order by part #, instead of adding to your cart? :D
No cost is listed either.. but 20$ canadian sounds like a good price

So they are basically "super" supers?
I purposely replaced my supers with Competitions so that I could "feel" the corners.
Every pot has a lid I guess. :)

I *think* they are super joysticks, but with 360 optical sensor on the bottom instead of microswitches (in the case of the happ part).. not sure about the wico's..
but I don't have either so can't really give you much input on the subject...
my question is.. if happ p360's are about 40+US, why are the wico 360's so cheap?

Right and wrong ;).
When you buy the whole package from happs(the $40 one)..they give you a shaft that is "smoother" then regular super joysticks shaft(means there is a different shaft).and right about the optical sensor=no microswitch. The P360 shaft is much like x-arcade joystick's shaft"SMOOTH WISE".
Just letting people know what to expect. :)
And clear any confusion :)
-
How much is the "upgrade" package?
-
like $25.but i just checked happs and they dont sell upgrades anymore :'(.
Looks like you pay $15 more and total would be $40..whatever still worth the money..

Has anyone bought the Wico 360's online? I can't find them anywhere, and starburst coin hasn't got back to me ...Any leads? Thanks!

Starburstcoin is indeed slow.. they finally got back to me.. they only have red/blue handles left and they have some shelf wear as they have been there for 2-3 years he says..

I called Wico today...they no longer make the Wico 360's. Apparently the only way you are going to get a hold of some of these bad boys is to get a used pair, or shop demo, unless someone has a huge overstock somewhere. Looks lke I have to spend the "big" bucks and get the Happs 360 >:(

I'd just like to share this with everyone here. I called starburst about scooping a pair of Happs p360s a few weeks ago. The person there said they had them and so I asked how much they were. He said they were a bit pricey compared to an ultimate stick but was busy so could not look them up. I said I'd come in and when I did they were the wico360s - p360's were out of stock. I asked how much and he said it was $50.00 for each wico360!! On top of that he said they only came in red which I think is dumb.
I said forget it and asked about the happs p360s and he said they'd be $75.00 each once he orders them in!!! The people there seem to be nice to your face and smirk when you turn around. I personally don't like to be taken for a fool, did he think I was going to end up paying for his lunch? I figured I wouldn't order it online from happs since starbust are distributors and close to me but now I won't go back unless I need a switch or something small. I ordered my p360s for $40.00 CDN each from happs online.
The point is if you go there do your homework first.

I ended up picking up 4 of the "shelf worn" Wico 360s from Starburstcoin. They are red-handled, but I couldn't pass up the $20 canadaian price. I am in the US and the whole order cost me $54 US.
I will let you know what condition they are in when I receive them....maybe include some pics.
Later all,
Chuck
m3tal is the man for turning me on to them and this deal. That is where he picked his up.

Really.. I talked to them a couple of months ago and he quoted me about $50 CDN for the wico 360's.. now they are 20? heh
i tried to get him down in price but no go.... already bought super joysticks so not going to get it now..
-
He originally quoted me $70...then I heard from m3tal that they had an old stock of Wicos that were made from a previous batch, just shelf-dirty.
He came back to me on those at $20.
