Hey all,
I picked up a TV for a measly sum the other day. Problem is, the entire screen has a pretty even unbearable green hue to it. When I turn it on its right side, the hue turns bluish purplish. Any ideas on how to fix it? I tried fiddling with the hue/tint settings but they have very little effect.

TV's are very dangerous to work on. They don't call them widowmakers for nothing. Don't take this wrong, but tv's are a dime a dozen, why would you buy one with lots of video problems? What I'm saying is that it's not worth it for a TV. Walk away or take it to a qualified repair shop. You'll thank me in the morning :)

Degauss? The fact that the hue changes when you change orientation reeks of magnetic issues...

Bad transistor in the green position?

Using duct tape, make a GIANT asterisk (one of these things --> * ) on the front of the tube. Taking a sledgehammer, raise it over your head, preferably while in motion, bring it down and forward into the tube and try to just "tap" the front of the glass........through the back of the damn thing, and get that fiasco over with.
Problem solved. You'll thank ME in the morning too!
