Title: Roms Disappear from Mame32
Post by: markrvp on October 25, 2005, 02:59:03 pm
Sometimes games will just not show up in Mame32.  The biggest culprits are Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., and Super Mario Brothers (all Nintendo games).  They don't show up in favorites, so I go to available.  They don't show up in AVAILABLE, so I go to ALL GAMES and they don't show up there either.  The roms are in my Mame32 ROM folder.

Any ideas what the problem is?

I'm running Mame32 v.90 in WindowsXP SP2 on a 1.5 Ghz Pentium IV.  1 Gig Ram with a Radeon 9200SE videocard and Soundblaster 16 audio card.

MAME32 has a bad habit of sometimes placing some games under the wrong parent.

For while I had "Star Wars" appearing under some other completely unrelated game, or appearing in the "G"s

Could it be they got removed in that version of MAME?

They are supported in that version of MAME.  It seems last time this happened I had to launch Donkey Kong from a commandline version of MAME and then it showed up in Mame32 again.  Could there be something in a game .ini or .cfg file that makes it show up under the wrong parent?
