That's not Culture Club, that's DOA... and not the hardcore punk DOA...

We're both right. However, Culture Club did it first. DOA did it in 1998...

You must be a young'un !

Huh?  You're saying the song "You spin Me Round (Like a Record)" was recorded by CC?

I do not think so, my friend.   I'm old enough to remember both those bands and their hits and methinks that you are mistaken.

Haha - you're right! I actually looked it up, instead of relying on memory.

DOA is Culture Club in a Star Trek transporter accident! Almost the same thing: gay\crossdresser lead singer\80's pop music.

Never did like either band anyways...

Quarterback= 1 80's crossdresser point
Havok = 0

You win!

I guess you're remembering (incorrectly) back to The Wedding Singer which had You Spin Me Round (Dead or Alive) and Do You Really Want To Hurt Me (Culture Club).  I prefer the first one personally.

 :)  I actually remember seeing some Dead Or Alive picture or video or something and thinking that it was Boy George... but back in those days I thought that Prince looked like Michael Jackson, so who knows.

Score one for the eighties!!!

Ahem....

It's Dead or Alive, but if you've ever seen the lead singer for DOA I can see why you'd get them mixed up with Boy George (boy, the 80's sure had some sexual identity problems!  :P)

It's a recycled joke - I used it first in my spinner roundup, now this trackball review..."You Spin Me Right Round Baby..." ha, ha...

Anyway, +1 Troll points for getting me to reply.  ;)

I don't care for Boy George himself, personally....  but, I did listen to the music...

There was one song in particular that was really good, IMO...  "Love Is Love" from the movie Electric Dreams....

Yeah! Got the point!

So... Are you still going to dress up as Boy George?

 :angel:

Actually, I got a DEVO outfit from Target for Halloween:

Is there a trailer park ho costume?

But, of course:

Although, honestly, this looks more like the Tranny costume more than a "Trailer Park Princess"

That costume isn't accurate. It should come with a half-empty packet of smokes and loose the high heels. Thongs baby, thongs.  8)

They actually some good technopop besides Safety Dance, but man, were their lyrics weird...

"What happened to Tony? He dug a hole in the ground, when no one was looking. It took him years to be found. Now he's making a living, selling parachutes door to door. Now you might never need one, but then again, there's always a war..."

BTW, that DEVO costume is actually historically incorrect:

(http://www.mdfilmfest.com/2004/images/filmguide/chuckstatler-devo.jpg) (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0946719497.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg)

The energy domes came after the radiation suits (and preceded the plastic hair and the spud rings):

(http://smh.com.au/ffximage/2005/04/01/devo_narrowweb__200x301.jpg) (http://www.ondarock.it/photo/Devo.jpg)

and don't forget the Chinese-American Friendship Suits:

Someone knows a little TOO much about Devo.

Guilty as charged. There was just something about a band that kept coming up with new, weird looks for each album that held a certain strange fascination for me growing up...

Ah, but where (besides a local florist) can you find an Energy Dome(tm)? Gotta have the dome...

Oh, and I was drunk the day we did that photo, but you can see why I needed to buy the suit.  8)
