Title: Hagstrom ME4/Happs Trackball/Tornado Spinner problem?
Post by: jopenner on October 24, 2005, 10:22:16 pm
Hi,

I ordered the Hagstrom ME4 and KE-TBH3 trackball cable along with the KE-SP3 spinner cable for my Happs Trackball and Slikstik Tornado Spinner, respectively.  The problem is with the end of the wire that connects to the trackball and spinner, respectively.  The connectors do not match (too big).
How can I resolve this problem?
Additionally, I have set my CP up to have two sets of mouse buttons on either side of my trackball for left-handed and right-handed people.  The ME4 supports mouse buttons, but the connector is labeled as follows:
GND=Common
Pin 4=Right
Pin 3=Middle
Pin 2=Left
Pin 1=Resolution
I know I need to short either button to common to achieve a signal, but how could I support two sets of left and right mouse buttons in this manor?
Thanks in advance.

John

Thanks.  I got the buttons sorted out, but the white connectors on the Happs are stumping me.  I am trying to find out what they are called so that I can adapt them to the ME4 harness??

The Happ trackball uses a 6 pin .093" spaced Molex connector.

You can find them at digikey.com

The receptacle  : WM1335-ND
The female terminals : WM1103-ND

BTW: You said you have a SlikStik Tornado?... that has a USB interface built on to it... it won't easily adapt to the Hagstrom (if that is what you were planning on doing).  You would have to replace the optical board on it for it to work with the Hagstrom.  This sort of thing has been done before for the Opti-Pac:
