Im trying to hook my dreamcast to may super neo 29 candy cab. Im not having problems with how to do it but something seems to get screwed up every time I try. Im on my second vga box and I hacked a vga cable and soldered to a jamma fingerboard. Everything worked great when I first hooked it up then two days later I decided to attach everything to a board and putt the hacked controlers in a box. when I pluged it back in my screen had darc shadows on everything and a translucent bar rolling horizonatlly. What causes this? I checked all my conections there all good.

I forgot to mention I know my problem isnt the monitor because I have a few pcb and they all work fine. I know its either my vga box or a bad connection. what Im looking for is what loose connection could be causing this? Ive noticed that there does not seem to be a difference with or without the video ground. Could not having a good ground be causing the problem?

Have you tried mucking about with the brightness controls on the monitor?
I also know there's a knob on the chassis that makes the screen brighter but can't for the love of god remember what it's called. it's usually above/below the focus knob.

go over your grounds very carefuly, that looks like the video ground is biased high.
