Title: 3" Imperial Trackball--Need install photos
Post by: MAME nut on October 24, 2005, 03:25:41 pm
Hi,

I purchased a 3" Imperial Trackball, but it did not come with install directions.  Can anyone post pics of their CP??  Both front and back??

THANX !!!

Did you get a mounting plate with it?  If not, you really should pick one up.  The housing mounts to the mounting plate which has holes for carriage bolts to attach it to the CP.

It came with a faceplate for the top of the CP....do I also need a mounting plate??

What size/shape hole do I cut??

Do I need to router the CP??

You need the Happ mounting plate.  As far as the hole, just lay the TB correctly down, trace around it, then cut out the hole with a jigsaw.

Actually, I think that "faceplate" you speak of, is actually a spacer so you can flush mount or leave a lip on the trackball.

The mounting plate works perfect.  I think DreamArcades sells them fairly reasonable.

Here are some pix for you:

First one shows the 3" trackball with the spacer on top of it and the mounting plate.

Second shows the hole I cut out for the trackball and the holes for the mounting plate.
