if only he could put those lights in the arrows that are touch sensitive, like in the arcade when you push your foot down.  LoL, no offense to anyone here, but DDR nerds have been the freakiest people i have ever met in my entire life.  I've met a lot of nerds in my arcade times, but they are the ultimate.  I admit, I do play DDR sometimes, I used to play quite a bit to try and get decent, I can pass like 8 feet songs without knowing them, but DDR is like a rarity in my gaming venue.  Also, people take it so damn seriously.  It's cool that guy built those pads, very good metal work, but all the ddr nerds I've met seriously believe they have somehow exceeded a mortal state if they can pass a really hard doubles song.
  well that's my opinion anyways.

yeah, I mostly play DDR when I feel like laughing at myself...but when I went to Toronto I saw a LOT of people playing the game that obviously spent many, many hours at home practicing.

I've even seen a website that had videos taken of different competitions, etc...those guys are good, but dang it is just a game. :)

Have you ever seen the game Para Para Paradise? Same idea as DDR, but there are 5 sensors that register your HAND motions in the air. The freakiest thing I've seen was a guy playing PPP, and he had his "dance crew" around him, performing the same choreographed dance routine. Those guys need to get out more. :)

Yeah, they call that shiat shadow dancing, because you're imitating the moves that the player should be doing.  It's really dumb.  A few of my friends got real good, one of em entered a tournament, he didn't win, but he got in the top 5.  I really hate para para, it's just like a ravers version of DDR, and all the moves look really dumb.  The only cool ddr move I ever saw was one at this tournament where a guy did these backflips.  That was kinda cool, cause I think he was a break dancer, he wasn't very good at the game though.

I may have to borrow the basic technique to build a panel for Mole Attack that the kids can smack as hard as they want.
