You'll need a SNES emulator and a Super Mario World ROM.

That's my impression, but I haven't used it yet myself. If you guys actually DO make levels, be sure to share them here.

graphics hack of this game that replaced all the characters with ASCII art
That's neat.

I wish they had something like this YEARS ago. I can see myself and a bunch of buddies creating a whole new Mario game from the ground up. 8 worlds from scratch. It looks like you can even create OVERWORLDS!!
Can't wait for professional-grade levels to start making the rounds.

they have a full remake of the game in the demo world section, called the legend continues

I would have killed for this when I was 12. I used to have a booklet of all the crazy mario levels I'd draw while ignoring the 4th grade. I wish I still had that booklet. I was mario obsessed.
I forgot what it was like having imagination :'(

I too had levels designed and always kept notes of where I would have hidden something cool to make the levels more fun for me. Now I can finally *sob* live out my dreams of being a game hacker!!! :)
