I'm a little concerned since i've ordered my marquee two and a half weeks ago now and I still haven't received it.
-
Silly newbie, Emdkay visit these forums regularly, so no, he's not shady.
-
A few things;
1. Two and a half weeks isn't much turn around time as an average for production. You're still okay, no sweat.
2. Emdkay keeps pretty busy, and occasionally misses some emails, but has a long history of satisfied customers. He's not shady.
3. RayB; no reason to mock the newb for this particular post...In time he might deserve some derision, but this question's pretty innocuous. :P Anyway, In my opinion, just because someone visits these forums regularly... doesn't mean they're not shady, after all, just look at your post count :P Just kidding man, I still love my ball-top trigger sticks! :D

thanks for the pointless slam

C'mon, now.. it was a QUESTION... AND, ignoring customers IS a little shady. In this case, it's innocent enough, but it's reasonable to get worried about what someone else is doing with your money.
That being said... Emdkay has a great rep for quality and service, which we have noted. Our responses mitigate any question of Emdkay's integrity that ANOTHER user may have in the future, so the post in itself does no damage. Even the wording of the subject is not negative in itself. I can't really imagine many better places a consumer can go to verify the quality of an arcade vendor than this board, so this is definitely the right place to pose a question. Had this been an arbitrary attack.. that would be one thing, but this was not, this was a perfectly legitimate question.
Now if one of us board fossils made some arbitrary comment ATTACKING a vendor for some BS reason, or out of some unethical attempt to direct people to a competitor (or worse yet, their own site & products) slapping might be justified.
Vinbot IS new to this board.. cut him some slack.

I have exercised due process which is why I raised the thread.

Mark is kind of right. My comment was merely intended as a "tender knock" while at the same time pointing out that Emdkay is a regular here (and since I didn't add in anything negative about Emdkay the assumption should be that he's not only a regular, but a good guy). Actually, it wasn't even a tender knock or slam... I don't see how "silly newbie" is insulting. ??? But sorry if I hurt any feelings.
But to those of you defending Vin as only asking a question, the fact is he felt it necessary to pepper it with "It's all a little shady to me." So no, it wasn't just a question.
The fact is Vinbot, many vendors in this business (do it yourself arcade parts) do so as side jobs, not full time. That means you put in your order and he gets to it as soon as he can. Then there's shipping time. It's also completely possible that your emails to him got nicked by spam filters.
So bottom line is he's dependable. Just try contacting him through this board's "personal message" feature. And if you have more than one email address, try emailing him from those as well. And welcome to the board!

But to those of you defending
:D

Welcome to the hobby, Vinbot.

Thanks for the welcome. My project is mostly completed but i'll post my pics in the project forum with some of the things I learned along the way :)

Its also good to see this thread up. Let us know when you contact him and when you get it.
Since almost all venders around here do it in their off time, you can get a few days without hearing from someone (real life stuff). Its nice for us to kinda keep track of who is known to take a few days.... So when people question we can put their minds at ease.
But you shouldn't have anything to worry about... but I bet you figured that out already :)

I'm a little concerned since i've ordered my marquee two and a half weeks ago now and I still haven't received it. I've emailed them twice and i've gotten no response. It's all a little shady to me.
Has anyone else had a bad experience with these guys! >:(
Hey Vince, I saw your two email messages came in over this past weekend and have responded with your status. I was away since Friday only checking mail remotely and periodically - thanks for hanging in there!
-
See, people here have to realize many of these "companies" in this hobby are indivisuals (or maybe 2 people) so if real life causes them to not be around you may have to wait for a response.
-
Emdkay, if you don't mind, can you post here what the expected turn-around time can be when ordering with you? (From time the order is submitted to time you ship, whats the range it can take?)

Sure, the time from placing the order online and having it in your hands is typically 7-10 days. I usually ship once per week (priority mail, or airmail outside the USA). Vincent's case is not typical - I'm getting his order sent out this week and am refunding the shipping portion of his order.
-
That's a cool move emdkay. I will be sending you my business shortly.
-
Yah, i'm really impressed. The only problem I was having was that I didn't know what was going on. Thanks for the update emdkay and you didn't have to refund my shipping. An email would have sufficed :)
