anyone have any suggestions? the built in bolts on the yoke are less than 3/4 inch in lenght. I could route out the 3/4 mdf I'm using for my panel, but wonder about the strength of what's left.
anyone got one of gamecab's yokes? how does it mount?

I'd mount it using sex nuts. They're a tubular form of bolt that would allow you to mount the yoke base without routing any thickness out of your control panel.

Can you get these with a head you can put a spanner/socket on? The one in the diagram looks like a carriage bolt head which wouldn't work here I don't think since the bolts are fixed to the yoke.

Probably, though usually they're slotted for a straight bladed screwdriver.

Heh, no kidding. It's probably safer to run your search using "sexnut" or "sexbolt". Quite often you only find the bolt and nut sold as a pair. I learned about them while installing commercial bathroom partitions, as they're typically put together with sex bolts. The heads on those have the slots ground away on one side to keep people from removing them. A sexbolt is a fairly specialized type of hardware, but occasionally I run across a situation where they work when little else will do the job.
