Title: Would this work in a Pac?
Post by: rohan on October 16, 2005, 03:23:57 pm
I'm looking at this as a hopefully easy plug and play solution for replacing the monitor in a Pac-Man.  Would this work?

Qbert, you are a wise orange thingy...I will have to be creative as to how I install this thing.  I can't take off the "universal" mount as the main PCB is fixed to it.  The mount is not really compatible with the standard Pac-Man mount, but I have an idea as to get around this.  The monitor did NOT come with a harness for the video cables, so I'm going to have to download an Electrohome G07 monitor manual from somewhere and figure out the old pin-outs on the old monitor, find out where they go onto the game PCB and make my own harness.  Packaging and shipment were superb from Happ, but the documentation that came with the monitor amounts to a single schematic and a parts list.  Being a nooB when it comes to monitor stuff is not helping either.  As progress continues, this may become a Project Announcements Blog.  Already did a bunch of work on the rest of the machine like new CPO, joystick grommet, DEEP cleaning and disassembly, artwork touchups, bulb replacements, complete fuse replacements, and much much more.  Stay tuned...

All you need is the schmatic/part list when it comes to a monitor...the ons from Wells Gardner show a diagram of the PCB layout/pinout of the connectors...
