Title: Ground Wiring

Ok, I'm going to be installing my new IPAC this evening, and just wanted to verify one thing.

When wiring the grounds, I can daisy-chain them all together.

I know this isn't the best solution, as it could be prone to failure, and dificult to troubleshoot. A wiring block would be the best solution, from what I understand, but I just wanted to make sure it would work this way. I am totally off base here?

I wouldn't say it was prone to failure... but  what I think most people do is 1 loop for each side of the control panel (i.e. one for player 1's controls/buttons  1 for player 2's) That;s the convention anyways.,

Doing the looped ground also helps you troubleshoot where a breakage does occur.

If you connect the ground full circle you have to have 2 failures to have a prob. Most people daisy chain the ground.

Any problems if you wire them all to a terminal block?

Er that's what i meant... it's clear that i'm delarious, and will stop dispensing with advice for tonight... =)

This is what I do, so there aren't any problems unless you happen to have two breaks.   I've never had a problem yet.

By terminal block I assume you mean a ground block. You need a block that connects all the wires to a common one. This is a great way to go but most people don't bother.

For my upright cab I used a ground block with my Hagstrom encoder.  Check my photo pages linked on my site for examples.  It works well, but it is more work.  Using an IPAC in my cocktail project right now and I will be chaining the grounds.....
