I recently had a G07 die on me and I had to take it in to get repaired. They put on new caps and a new flyback. I thought once I plugged it back in, everything would be just fine. But low and behold, it was completely out of sync. Well I researched on how to sync the G07's (i have a plastic tool) and no matter what I do, I cannot make the picture look anywhere close to good. The knobs that I have on the G07 are vertical hold, vertical linearity, B1 adjustment (havent touched this one), horizantel frequency control, vertical height control, vertical/horizantal centering tabs (havent touched these), CRT cut off controls (havent touched these either), video drive controls ( havent touched these), horizantal width control (havent touched), focus control (havent touched), and screen control (havent touched). Anyways I have a pretty good video of the BEST picture I can get, its still pretty bad though. Any advice on what I should I should adjust to make the picture better would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I have to take the whole arcade back to where I got the monitor repaired. Here's the link:

click on it and it should work fine. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Which connector did you plug your sync wires into?
the ones adjacent to the rgb lines on the ones behind them?

I plugged them into the ones behind em, my connections are seperate. The monitor was synced up fine before it died

To me it still looks like a monitor with the syncs hooked up incorrectly.
(they will do that when it has no sync signal)
G07 Pinouts.
Looking from the back of the monitor.
J3 J2 J1
E6 E5 E4 E3 E2 E1
E1---Red
E2---Green
E3---Blue
E4---Ground (connect RGB grounds here)
E5---Pos. V sync
E6---Pos. H sync
J1---Ground
J2---Neg. V sync
J3---Neg. H sync
You should have a wire looped to connectors j3 and j2.
Gnd can be supplied off the same connector as video ground.
Check with a ohm meter for connection between pins j3 and j2 to the video sync pin on your jamma pcb.
(pin p or the 13th pin from the edge, solder side.)
Also try another jamma board if you have one.
Be sure to check these things before hauling a whole game to the shop.

Hey thanks for the advice, I just made an interesting discovery........I unplugged the sync connections and powered it on and the monitor looked exactly the same. I looked closer at my sync connector and there is a a black ground wire coming out of it and it is severed. If I grounded that wire, could that solve my problem perhaps?

Just remember wire colors have NOTHING to do with what signal they carry.
Which wire is it from the connector?
j1 j2 or j3?

It is the wire on the far left when I connect it, the wire that isn't looped. So I assume that is J1. Sorry if I am being dumb.
-
Far left would be the h-sync wire.
Fix your connector.

oh man do i feel dumb. I just naturally felt like that was the way the sync cable went because thats the only way it fit in there securely. Now its just hanging on there loosely, yet working great =). Oh man, the monitor looks way better than it used to. thanks alot for the advice
