Just got this today, its been living in my grandfathers basement for 30 years :)
-
Nice... In pretty good shape by the looks.. Playing ok ?
-
Can't tell yet, every rubber on it needs to be replaced, the 10s and 1s score reel don't turn. Beyond that all I found where a few dead light bulbs. Waiting on the manual I ordered to come in so I can make sure its working as it should. Ive been busy cleaning the 20 years of dust that have built up on the inside :P

In the meantime, go over the playfield with Novus 2, then a pure caranuba wax (can be had at any auto parts store). Order a batch of coil sleeves, replace the sleeve in every coil. Replace the ball(s).
-
Is there anywhere I would be able to walk into and buy novus? This is my first pinball so I don't have such things on hand.
-
Not that I know of, but if you go to Pinballlife.com, you can get it there. Get Novus 2 and 1, you'll probably never need 3. You can get your sleeves and balls there, too, along with every other supply you'll need for the cleaning/shop. The prices are cheap and I have ordered from them many times.
-
The stuff I already ordered I got from http://www.pbresource.com they seem to be pretty good too. I'll sit down and compare prices and such a little later
-
ooo that just screams retro
-
Hey just a quick not on the Novus. I bought it from The Container Store, some stupid little store that sells pretty much Tupperware and storage boxes, I can't seem to find it at the moment but as I remember it was pretty cheap, I use it to clean CDs and it works amazing! http://www.containerstore.com/find/index.jhtml that's a list of where each store is located perhaps one is near you, just a thought!

Im 5 minutes from one, I'll call over there tommarow and see if they carry it.
-
Man, that thing is so beyond cool it ain't funny. I'm extremely jealous.
-
Well made some progress today, fixed all the score reels and half of the ball counter...still having issues counting, but it resets properly now.
-
I finished fixing the ball counter and started tackeling the letters, they all light up properly but the T and E and they share a circuit, and while tracing it down I blew a fuse! ARGGG. Gotta run out and buy some tommarow.
-
How did you Grandfather pick that up?

Excellant...good to see some more em's being restored here's a photo of mine has been a labour of love but I love it more than my newer pins. I have it set to free play by taping the swich in the credit wheel permantly closed. ( and can't get the coin mech working yet but other than that it plays fine I find you have to be more precise with your shots on these older pins ( not unlike older video games ) bought mine for $100.00 aus ( and it was layered in concrete and full of rat ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- but the rats never ate the wire just half the schematics ) how is your credit wheel? my spring seems out of whack . Good luck with it!!!! ;D

BTW my em is missing its back door ..I know yours is not a playmatic like mine but just be interested to see a shot of the inside of the back door to help me make mine. Can't find one on the net ! Not the score reels and such just looking at the the door from the inside in,,Thanks if you can
