I usually sneak out a few minutes early every day. Nobody has ever mentioned it, so I keep doing it. I was just officially informed that I have new hours, which reflect the time that I actually leave. No difference in salary or anything, I just have 15 minutes at the end of the day knocked off.
Do you think I should start leaving 15 minutes earlier than my new hours now? If I keep this up, eventually I might not have to go to work at all. ;)

I usually take twice the amount of our allotted break time.

I do it every Thursday and Friday as well as coming to work 30-45 minutes late every day for the last 2 years.
And I got a promotion and a raise in the last 6 months.
No contest.

I can't compete with that. I'm moving to Australia.

I set the clock in my area 10 minutes ahead just so I could leave 15 minutes early every day, but after a few weeks the supervisor got wise to it and reset my clock.....

Oh, I forgot to mention, Monday to Wednesday, I usually stay back anywhere between 3-4 hours, so I guess it evens itself out.

Have you started your new job yet? Might have to "slack" off on being a slacker for a little while...

well let me reword that, i made it sound like not taking a break was doing more work. i meant like, when im sitting here for 5 hours doing nothing, im too lazy to get up and get food, so i just raid the fridge for something =p

So you're not only doing nothing all day, you're also eating up the boss' food. You are worthy my young apprentice. ;)

wow 7 months....
Well it works out for myself and the company.
I am going to moving from Ohio to Illinois and will need this much time to get ready, need to get some work done there, and will need to get my stuff in order here, sell my house and a bunch of other things. I also plan on taking 3-6 months off when I get to Illinois as I need to get some personal things in order there so I need to build up a little nest egg.
I am an auditor and our busy season is January through April so by me sticking around it is precieved as me doing them a huge favor. Currently our audit department consists of the audit partner, myself (surpervising senior 4+ years experience), and two staff auditors that started this summer so they would be crippled without me. They have always thought very highly of me and wanted me to come on board as a partner in the future so they have already started the more vacation, company vehicle... perks to sway me.

De Nile has too many crocodiles in it. I'd rather be a slacker in a hot tub.

back to the monday grind, yay

No question about it 'slackerboy'
Unfortunately I am not one who should talk. The last 3 weeks I have been late 12 days out of 15 by at least an hour each day. Taken no lunch or breaks and leave 1hr before my shift is supposed to end. Oh and yeah I am on the web all damn day.
