Title: Mario Party questions - Which is which? Which would we like?

Might be better asked in the consoles forum?  I'm not sure.  Anyhow...

I've been playing Mario Party 2 on the 64.  It's the first title I've played in this series, and the girlfriend likes it too.  Will we like the other ones in the series?  I've been borrowing a GameCube from a friend for quite a while now and will have it until December.  I know his GF liked Mario Party 2 as well, so I'm thinking of buying one for the GC that I will give to him as "payment" for letting me borrow the console (depending on cost).

One thing I know the girls don't like is the mini-games that require you to pound the buttons for a long time like the "fillet relay", "mecha-whatevers", etc.  so I would like to try and stay away from a title if there are a lot of those types of mini-games.  I see Mario Party 7 is coming out: http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=4868c28b-0076-4914-8c7e-ed507f9b4aa2  So I'm wondering what title # goes with which consoles?

I would also like to try and stay away from the single player stuff to "unlock" things if at all possible.  They prefer to just sit down together and play.  Mario Tennis is another game they all like (if that helps).

mario party 4 5 and 6 are on GC. all are awesome games my ex also enjoyed playing them with me and theyre great when u got a couple ppl over. My favorites are 4 and 5

mario party 2 was the first one i played.  then i started playing mario party 5.  mario party 5 seems like it takes forever with the text, but you can speed it up and take off the minigame intros.  the one player story mode is going to kill you with all the text.  i heard they did away with the text in mario party 6.  mario party 7 will feature up to 8 computers, so you might want to wait for that.  you should buy wario ware too.  it's like 10 bucks used.

That text stuff is annoying.  Even in Mario Party 2.  I'm going to look around and see what I can find for a good price.

My kids destroyed I don't know how many controllers playing MP1 with the "spin the stick" games.

So don't get that one. But all MP 2 on are fun.
