Hi all
I have been looking all over for this CP to verify that it really is as good as it looks.. However, all pictures, links and such are not working since his site is down . Could anyone here assist in providing a picture ? I've only seen a partial, slightly slanted view and it looks excellent! Also in the book of course, but then again the book only provides a link.. which now has moved to http://www.mamenotover.com which doesn't answer..

I dont' recall the CP, but you can check out
localarcade.com/arcade_art
good stuff there.

Yes, already looked there... a lot of nice things going on on that site. However I really had my mind set on the at least having a look at the GSXRmovistar CP layout, since it comes highly recommended, both in the book and on this forum. However it seems to have been temporarily lost to the world :(
The search goes on.

I'll check my book sometime later this week... see if I happen to have the art somewhere.
-
Would appreciate it....

Got hold of the Motorfish CP layout.. It's pretty sweet, although a bit coplex for my taste. The few snaps I've seen of GSXRMovistar's CP is a bit simpler and cleaner, but it might lack a few functions...
Hopefully someone here has a picture hidden somewhere deep down in the filestructure...

I have lots of pictures of it. When I get home from work I can post them. Motorfish was gracious enough to provide his photoshop files which really helped in learning how to design something like that. I only wish GSXRMovistar would have been more helpful. I realize he was in the middle of moving to a new house..but's been well over a year now and he did say he was going to make them available.

That would be really nice. I dont mind doing my own design really... Just having the alledged GSXR pictures to look at would be really great.
That been said, the .psd file from Motorfish is awsome! All layered up and everything, so the development work is going to be severly reduced. I'm going for a "Mean Green Machine" kind of look, so I'm going to wreak Havoc on the colors , background image and everything, but having a good layout... man, it would just be kickin'

Here is a copy of it from the book
-
Yeah.. I checked all of my archives. Don't have it. I swear I had it at one time, though. I probably didn't keep it cuz I didn't need it, and it was only available before I started the arcade art library.
I think gsxr was a bit miffed about everybody using it or sharing it or something at the time.. though as you mentioned, I'm pretty sure he was *going* to post it eventually.
Anyway. Something like it wouldn't be too tough to do in AI... but I'm not offering, mind you.

Ahh.. the pic is from the CDROM that comes with the book, right? I really really should have thought of thatone myself.
It does look pretty sweet though... Maybe I'll take AI out for a spin, doing some re-creating work:) Or, I'll end up modifying the Motorfish layout, stripping it a bit..
thanks for the input, all :) If you ever find any more detailed pictures, please let me know. I 'll keep you all posted on the progress of my CP as well.

Naez,
With the assistance of Craig over at http://nolij.arcadianz.co.uk/, I was able to make a copy of this panel.
I created a cutout template in Photshop 7.0 by using some of John St.Clair's templates obtained from the CDROM that came with his book.
Here are some .jpg files of my design. If you like, I have a 11 MB .psd document that you can have, but, I'll need somewhere to upload it as I am on dial-up.

There's a straight-on but low-rez view of that CP in this thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=14202.0).
If you are already creating a digital control panel layout, you might want to consider recreating the art for your specific purposes and dimensions. The background shot came from here (http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/index.html), I think.

Alright!
So, that will absolutely be good enough for a design overview. Not really looking to copy anything straigh-off here, just the layout and inspiration :) Too bad GSXRMovistar isn't here to hear the credit he deserves.. Hope he hears about it somehow anyway.
