Title: K7000, green lines when turned off?
Post by: Nipedley on October 04, 2005, 03:37:28 pm
I've never owned a WG monitor before so I thought I'd ask here (building up a list of components to repair on my K7197 board, wondered if this might be an extra problem)... It probably isn't, but hey...
When I turn off the monitor, as the picture goes a green outline appears and seems to shrink down into a single dot in the middle of the monitor and then fade away, a few seconds after the power is gone, is that normal?

Yeah that monitor is going to get a good bit of TLC once I get my first project out of the way, the machine in question came from germany to the uk (a good few miles I would say) in a truck so the monitor's been banged about a bit.. it has other classic signs of cap troubles, im building up a list of components to replace once I get to that point =). Thanks for the explanation, very insightful as always!

Yes, after power is turned off that's normal.
